Note: Birth certificate says James was born Usk Street, but next of kin address in 1919 refers to "Usk Street, Green Street", so is Green Street a district of Bethnal Green? I believe this just means that Usk Street was a minor road off the more prominent Green Street, often addresses were expressed in terms of two roads.

Who were Charles Foss and Walter Still? There is a Charles Foss born S Molton (Devon) Jun 1892. There are several Walter Still's. Charles Foss married Louisa Jane Hayter, Elsie's sister.
Charles Foss, aged 28, living in Winkton Common in 1911 married to Louisa. This probably explains why Elsie was in Winkton Common when Lily was born in 1912. She was staying with her sister.

1973: Resident at Field View, Shappen Hill Lane, Burley when he died

When James died he left a capital sum of approx GBP9000 in trust for the 6 children, the interest to be paid to Elsie.

James & Elsie had 6 children. Lily (1912), Charles (1920), Diana (1922), Frederick James (1923), Elizabeth (1928) and Patricia (1930). Lily was born before James & Elsie were married, but her birth certificate was amended in 1946 and implies that James was her father.
